I agree with her on this point as much as Fashion is about being comfortable in your skin it does not mean boring and mundane should be your dress code. What is food without Spice....ummm Bland right! Same way what is Fashion without the Quirk...ummm Boring !!
I obviously am as excited about the Cape that has been in vogue pretty much in Hollywood as it has been in Bollywood. Now I absolutely love designer Anamika Khanna's designs where she has incorporated the Cape in an Indian Silhouette. Be it Cape Cholis or Cape over Sarees she is one designer that is extremely creative in the way she mixes up Indian and Western silhouettes yet retains the Indian ethos to her outfits.
I added drama to the look by adding beaded bib neckpiece that was enough to bring together this look. I added a multicoloured stone ring and suede wedges to give it the needed pop of colour.
So if you like the Cape jacket trend and are still unsure if it would suit you…then wearing a Midi skirt as a Cape Jacket could just be the best way to find out without investing in one.
The Hair and Make-up can make or break an outfit especially if you are heading to a formal event. Since I was dressing up for dinner I decided to centre part my hair and then curl it outwards to add more drama to the outfit. Similarly deep dark eye-shadow helped enhance the eyes . Lots of Kohl and mascara helped open them up.
I am not someone that wears foundation on my skin. So I have only used mineral powder but you could use a BB cream/ concealer to hide any blemishes and add some blush to give your cheeks a slight natural flush and let the eyes do all the talking.
