Last week my husband and I went on a trip to North Vietnam and mainly covered Hanoi, Sa Pa and Ha Long Bay regions. Here is a detailed breakdown of the outfits I wore on my travels.
Outfit 1 - In the picture above I am wearing printed cotton pants by Ice Design Fashion. I teamed it with a casual black top and black flats. This was my airport style. I like to keep my face moisturized and sans make up whenever I am flying and apply lots of lip-balm to keep lips hydrated.
Outfit 2- I teamed up a Chang Beer vest (which I picked up on my travels to Thailand in 2010) with leopard printed palazzo pants. I spotted these on a stall set up in Irla in Mumbai. I wore statement earrings and added some wrist bands to complement the outfit.
I love street shopping as you can find re-usable gems at less than half the price. You do not have to be dressed from head to toe in brands that you can't even pronounce properly in order to be considered part of the elite and stylish club.
Outfit 3- The same evening we hopped on the Orient Express Train to Sa Pa. Again comfort is of prime importance whenever I travel. I kept the accessories the same, and changed into comfortable black leggings.
I wore a green singlet and then added on a printed low armhole singlet by Supre. I kept my face bare of makeup and wore lip-balm to hydrate the lips. I added a Black Jacket later as the weather turned cool and windy.
Outfit 4- The day we reached Sa Pa we had to brace ourselves for chilly and wet weather. We were to trek a total of 6 kms to Cat Cat village and back. I had to be suitably warm and comfortable. I am wearing the same green singlet and black leggings I wore the night before . I have added a thin green high-low sweater on top. I shopped this sweater from the night market in Hanoi on day 1.
To complete the outfit I wore a yellow and blue beaded neck-piece (gifted by sister in law) and some colorful wristbands. On my face I am wearing Bare Naturals Mineral powder by Maybelline. On my cheeks I have swiped a peachy pink blush by Lakme and a swipe of Colossal Volume Mascara by Maybelline on the lashes. I wore lots of kajal and added my current favourite lipstick Twig by Mac Cosmetics on the lips. Printed socks and comfortable walking shoes added to the cute quotient.
I will leave you with a few pictures of our trek taken by Ankit Mehan. I would love to hear your feedback in the comments below. Vietnam Fashion Diary 2 coming soon on the blog.
